Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee

Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee is an influential and forceful voice in Washington.  She is serving her eleventh term as a member of the United States House of Representatives. She represents the 18th Congressional District of Texas, centered in Houston, which is the energy capital of the world. 

Considered by many as the “Voice of Reason”, she is dedicated to upholding the Constitutional rights of all people.  She sits on three Congressional Committees — a senior member of the House Committees on the Judiciary, Homeland Security, and newly appointed by the leadership as a Member of the crucial Budget Committee. 

She is currently the first female Ranking Member of the Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism, Homeland Security, and Investigations and is leading the way on criminal justice reform through groundbreaking legislation including the Sentencing Reform Act, Law Enforcement Trust and Integrity Act, The RAISE Act, The Fair Chance for Youth Act, Kaleif’s Law, and the American RISING Act of 2015.   She is a champion for women and children supporting the Paycheck Fairness Act and the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act and introducing an amendment to HR2262 that provides for outreach to minority- and women-owned businesses with respect to business opportunities in the commercial space industry and authored H.R.45 the Triple-Negative Breast Cancer Research and Education Act of 2015.

We are truly grateful for the instrumental role that Congresswomen Lee played in Crusaders for Colon Cancer Inc.’s existence. She recognized the need for a non-profit that promotes colon cancer awareness and escalated the process for its establishment.


State Representative Senfronia Thompson

Representative. Senfronia Thompson’s legacy is one built from strong principles of faith, an unwavering defense of freedom, and a staunch belief in fairness. She exemplifies the American ideal that one person can make a difference. Rep. Thompson currently chairs the powerful Texas House Local and Consent Calendars Committee.

She is a member of the House Committee on Licensing & Administrative Procedures, the House Committee on Transportation, the House Select Committee on State & Federal Power & Responsibility, the House Select Committee on Economic Competitiveness and the Sunset Advisory Commission. Rep. Thompson also served on the House Select Committee on Mental Health.

Pastor Timothy Daniels

Timothy Daniels is the Senior Minister of Trinity Gardens Church of Christ located in Houston, TX. He has gladly served the community and church for over 23 years. His tenure of teaching and counseling has positioned him to reach others with humor, warmth, transparency, strength and empower them to continue living the life that God intended them to live.

He along with his wife, Cynthia Daniels is dedicated to building God’s Kingdom one family at a time. Their life is dedicated to living by example and encouraging men and women to follow Christ.  

Timothy Daniels is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Southwestern Christian College and a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Texas A&M University.  Cynthia Daniels is a graduate of the University of Houston and Prairie View A&M University.

Timothy Daniels was born, raised, met and married the love of his life, Cynthia Daniels in Houston, Texas.  They have been married over 41 years and are proud parents of three children and grandparents of five grandchildren.

We will always be grateful for the spiritual guidance that Pastor Daniels provides.  He not only donates his time through appearances at events, but he and his family have also been generous financial contributors.


Dr. Muhammed Naathani

Dr. Muhammed Naathani enjoys the entire spectrum of clinical Gastroenterology with a special interest in colorectal cancer screening. He joined the Kelsey-Seybold Clinic in 2007 and currently serves as associate chief for the Department of Gastroenterology. His practice is predominantly at the Spring Medical and Diagnostic Center.

Dr. Naathani is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American College of Gastroenterology and a member of the American Association for the study of Liver Diseases (AASLD). He has authored several publications and national presentations in the field of Gastroenterology and Hepatology.

Dr. Naathani enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. He loves the games of cricket and tennis, reading, writing, and poetry.

The organization’s founder, Valerie Gardner-Smith, owes her life to Dr. Nathanni and his extra effort to make the proper diagnosis of stage three colon cancer. He biopsied a suspicious mass several times during a colonoscopy to determine it was cancerous and she continues to receive the proper treatment for her health. 


Dr. Waqar Qureshi

Dr. Waqar Qureshi obtained his medical degree from the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine at London University in the United Kingdom. He got residency and gastroenterology fellowship training in the USA. He was recruited by Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, 20 years ago and has been here since. He is presently Professor of Medicine and Chief of Endoscopy and works primarily at the Baylor Clinic and Baylor St. Lukes Medical center.

We are thankful for Dr. Qureshi’s passion as an advocate spokesperson for colon cancer. He has published numerous papers and book chapters and has been involved in writing guidelines in the practice of gastroenterology at the national level. His main interests are pancreaticobiliary disease, colon cancer and GI endoscopy in the pregnant patient. He is often invited to speak at national meetings on anorectal diseases. Dr. Qureshi is in the process of completing a textbook in anorectal disease.


Dr. Jonathan Redmon

Dr. Jonathan Redmon is a highly skilled surgical professional with 14 years of clinical experience in both metropolitan and rural demographics He has clinical expertise in evaluation, management, and treatment of benign and oncologic disease etiologies of gastrointestinal, breast, skin/soft tissues, complex hernias, endoscopy, and vascular access.

Dr. Redmon exhibits excellent interpersonal communication skills both verbal and written with collaborative efforts across multiple specialties to establish multidisciplinary healthcare philosophy. He has been a faithful supporter of all CCC events and is always on-call as a medical advisor.
